SCA Tissue North America is seeking a Inbound Logistics Planner in Menasha, WI to be responsible for routing and tendering of truckloads, truckload shipments, and package shipments. Reporting to the Sr. Recovered Fiber Buyer, the Inbound Logistics Planner will be developing and maintaining working relationships externally with fiber suppliers and internally with fiber prep and logistics.
- Tender inbound and outbound loads to carriers based on: Customer or supplier needs, Cost Service, Arrival dates, time Equipment restrictions, and availability Carrier lane profiles
- Communicate freight instructions by: telephone, fax, website, electronic data/interchange.
- Responsible for communicating the shipping department’s equipment needs to all SCA carriers.
- Effectively utilizes the Dedicated Fleet for their region, ensuring the fleet is utilized on outbound and inbound lanes that maximize savings and minimize deadhead miles.
- Assist in monitoring and verifying carrier delivery and pick-up performance.
- Responsible for matching high cube orders with proper carrier and equipment size.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with key shipping and scheduling personnel at our fiber suppliers.
- Develop an understanding of waste paper grades and recovered fiber business.
- Promotes positive customer relations through prompt and efficient service.
- Participates and contributes in continuous process improvement with a focus on the continued betterment of the organization.
- Cross-train with other supply chain positions.
- This position must work closely with the other IB and OB Planners when matching outbound and inbound loads with the same carrier.
- Resolve any issues between the SAP order management system, Mill Execution System (MES) and the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Provide back-up support for the other IB and OB Planners, rotate IB and OB responsibilities semi-annually or annually with the other regional IB and OB planner.
- Track outside the mill trailer inventories, perform yard checks, raw material inventories (pertaining to trailer storage), cycle counts, etc
- Support Fiber Prep Resource Support Team.
- Candidate must have flexibility to perform other duties as required.
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent. Some continuing education is desired
- Minimum two years business experience dealing with internal and/or external customer service
- Computer experience is essential – intermediate skills in Word and Excel are required
- Experience in previous roles that demonstrate above average abilities in math and analytical skills
- Prior Transportation software, SAP and MES experience is desirable
- Well organized, superior communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment with many interruptions
- Ability to comprehend and execute TMS program
